Cardiac hospital in Hyderabad soon: Sindh Health Minister

Karachi, February 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):Sindh Minister Health Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that Hyderabad is the second largest city of Sindh and a cardiac hospital like Karachi Cardiac hospital is being established in Hyderabad so that cardiac patients may not have to visit to Karachi and get better health facilities in Hyderabad.

This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office on Wednesday. Secretary health Dr. Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo and special Secretary Health Dr. Shireen also attended the meeting. The minister said that powers had been delegated to gross root level to enhance performance of Health Department. Transparency was maintained in medicines purchasing while all Medical Superintendents of public Hospitals had administered the oath to work honestly.

It was told in the meeting that 42 ambulances of 4×4 had been provided in district Tharparkar in order to transport serious patients from home to hospitals and to other cities as well on need basis. The health minister added’ In first phase 265 midwives have been trained for safe deliveries in far flung areas of Thar and in next two phases as many as 600 midwives and ayas will be trained.’

Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that there were 400 RO plants in Thar and out of which 325 were functioning well. During last seven months so far 208 newly born children had died due to various causes and measures were being taken to reduce mortality rate.
