Women empowerment through Information and Communication Technologies is the lever of economic progress: Anusha Rahman

Islamabad, November 24, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chairperson National Women Council, Ms Khawar called on Minister for IT Mrs. Anusha Rahman in her office. While talking to her, Minister for IT shared her continual purpose of creating an enabling environment for increasing the employability of the women through effective use of ICTs.

“The opportunity cost for non inclusion of women in National Mainstream is huge. Our Government is deeply cognizant of it. That’s the reason that we are developing and putting in place numerous packages and schemes that could uplift the skills and knowledge of our women to increase their employability potential. The ICTs for Girls program, that we are soon going to launch, is aimed at developing thousands of Girls from marginalized section of society in employability centric technical and soft skills” Anusha Rahman said

The chairperson for National Women Council appreciated the will and the endeavors of Minister for IT for women empowerment and shared that through collective and collaborative endeavors , the big goal of lowering the glass ceiling for women could be achieved in the best interest of Pakistan.

The Minister thanked the chairperson for her visit and resolved to do her best in all steps of this journey of women empowerment.
