Wi-tribe’s ‘Islamic Apps’ becomes the ‘Seasonal Hit

Karachi, August 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s #1 rated customer service provider in broadband, wi-tribe introduced Islamic apps on wi-tribe Bazaar this Ramzan. Exclusively created to celebrate the spirit of the season, the Islamic Apps have garnered instant popularity with over 40,000 hits on their first day alone.

Islamic apps have been developed under Pakistan Developers Challenge 2012(PDC2012), a wi-tribe initiative to encourage developers in Pakistan to create original and unique content. Available for free download on the wi-tribe Bazaar portal, Islamic apps is an enriched virtual package offering software under a range of different categories which include a Quran Auto Reciter, Tajweed, Zakat Calculator, Quran with Tafseer, Azan, 3D screen savers and Divine Quotes.

According to Ali Fahd, Director Marketing, wi-tribe Pakistan, “wi-tribe celebrates a sense of community, giving and spirituality by introducing free downloadable Islamic apps on its application portal wi-tribe Bazaar. By doing so, a virtual open source has been created, giving anyone, anywhere online access to Islamic resources from our website. This initiative has been very well received and continues to rise in popularity among local users during this holy month of Ramzan.”

wi-tribe Bazaar is Pakistan’s first buy and sell software portal, aimed primarily at contributing towards the effective development and economic proliferation of the local IT sector.
