Weekly inflation increases by 0.51 percent
ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on June 16, for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000 has registered increase of 0.51 percent over the previous week.
The SPI for the week under review in the above mentioned group was recorded at 302.75 points as against 301.20 points registered in the previous week. The SPI for the combined income group has also registered an increase of 0.56 percent, according to the figures released by Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS).
The FBS calculates the weekly SPI with the base year 2000-2001=100, covering 17 urban centres and 53 essential items for all income groups.
Prices of 27 items registered increase, five witnessed decline and prices of 21 items remained unchanged during the week under review.
Prices of vegetables, poultry, fuel, dairy, sugar, wheat, cigarettes, meat, oil, rice, pulses, and fabric increased during the week.
