Water and Power Development Authority’s collaboration with Pakistan Cricket Board for fitness training camp

Lahore, April 29, 2016 (PPI-OT):WAPDA in collaboration with PCB has organized a five-day Fitness Training Camp from April 26 to April 30, 2016, at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore in which forty players participated. The main objective of the camp is to focus on Fitness and Fielding. The outfield catches, close-in catches, throwing and lectures from WAPDA coaches were held in morning and evening sessions in the five-day camp.

The camp will have a deep impact in the promotion of game in the country. It is pertinent to mention here that total 1245 players came for trials in eight cities and five players were selected from each city. The selected forty players went through different fitness and fielding activities.

The top five players among forty will be given cash prizes with the best fielder to be awarded Rs. 50,000 and other four would receive Rs.25,000 each. In that regard, a ceremony will take place tomorrow at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore at 4pm where Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan and Chairman WAPDA Mr. Zafar Mahmood also member BoG will distribute cash prizes among the best players.
