Vast scope of joint ventures between Pakistan and China

Lahore, March 25, 2014 (PPI-OT): There is a vast scope of joint ventures between Pakistan and china in the fields of Agriculture, Textile, Pharmaceutical, Automobile, Leather, Transport and Construction. It was observed at the Trade and Investment Conference held under aegis of Pakistan-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry today in conference of the FPCCI, which was attended by CEOs of 24 Chinese companies led by Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry, Shandong China. Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi, President PCJCCI opened the conference by delivering address of welcome.

The Chinese delegates while expressing their views on this occasion said that they were interested to explore Pakistan’s market for business matchmaking, joint ventures and other investments in their respective fields. They evinced special interest in trade, building materials, home appliances, lighting, machine and equipment and project contracting.

Mr. shah Faisal Afridi President PCJCCI, in his address of welcome, said that the basic purpose of holding the conference was to explore different prospects of trade and Business in Pakistan for Chinese entrepreneurs that could Strengthen Economies of both friendly nations.

He welcomed second delegation from Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry as the last successful visit was in August 2013. He said the delegation will keep their agenda quite open to explore any of the investment or trading opportunities in Pakistan. We hope to find more opportunities and set a good example for other Chinese cities to follow, he said and hoped Pakistan and China will take concrete measures to complement each other’s economies.

Mr. Tan Chence, Vice Chairman Yantai chamber of Commerce and Industry, speaking as head of the delegation hoped for better communication between the two countries and wished that more Enterprises would come to Pakistan from Yantai Chamber in future to expand bilateral business relations. It rained at the arrival of delegation and rains symbolize flourish and growth for Chinese means that both nations will grow and develop together in future, he commented in a very friendly manner.

Mr. Wang Zi Hai, President, Lahore branch of the Association of Chinese Enterprises in Pakistan told on this occasion that keeping in view the augmenting collaboration of Pakistan and China in Lahore, a zonal office of the Yantai Chamber of Commerce and Industry is going to be opened tomorrow (Wednesday) at a dinner to be held in Hotel Pearl Continental.

The Conference was followed by detailed presentations including investment opportunities in Textile Sector by APTMA with special emphasis on relocation of Chinese textile industry in Pakistan, presentation by ICBC Head regarding, General introduction of Pakistan’s banking system emphasizing project financing and trade financing, briefing by Ms. Sidra Mansoor, joint registrar, SECP regarding how to form a company in Pakistan with special reference to foreign investors.

Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi President PCJCCI told that the delegation during its week-long stay in Pakistan will hold meetings with significant organizations of the private and public sector which include LCCI, PBOI, FCCI, SCCI, SECP, ICPC, SMEDA and PCJCCI.
