Use of force against students widely denounced in IOK

Srinagar, November 11, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders Aasiya Andrabi, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, human rights defenders, Abdul Qadeer Dar and Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Jamaat-e-Islami and High Court Bar Association have strongly condemned the killing and arrest of youth, particularly students, by Indian armed forces in the territory. The leaders and organizations in their separate statements termed the use of force on the people protesting against the killing of 22-year-old engineering student, Gowhar Ahmad Dar, as the worst example of state terrorism.

They said that classmates of the martyred student had every right to protest the brutal killing, but India and its puppet regime led by Mufti Sayeed were hell-bent upon crushing the freedom struggle by killing innocent youth. The leaders also condemned the prolonged and illegal incarceration of pro-freedom leaders including Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan and Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai. They called upon the international community and world human rights organizations including the Amnesty International and Asia Watch to take notice of situation in occupied Kashmir.
