UAE Consulate, Foreign Trade Ministry to organize first Magnificent 7 UAE Expo Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 in Karachi

Karachi: UAE Consul General in Karachi, Suhail bin Mattar Al Katbi says many investment and trade opportunities are available in Pakistan particularly in electricity, energy, telecommunication, transportation sectors, which have shown high profitability and business growth potential.

He was speaking at meeting organized by UAE Foreign Trade Ministry in Abu Dhabi in presence of Jamil Ahmed Khan, Pakistan Ambassador in UAE, private, government representatives for opening of inaugural Magnificent 7 UAE Expo from November 30 to December 2, 2011 at Expo Centre Karachi.

“Pakistan desires to strengthen its economic, trade ties with UAE. This exhibition is ideal platform. Karachi’s business community is closely following this event, which is reflection of positive outlook for trade relations between two countries,” said Jamil Khan.

Mohamed Nasser Al Zaabi, Director Trade Promotion Department at Foreign Trade Ministry said over past few months business and government delegations from two countries exchanged visits to open new commercial, investment opportunities, expand scope of bilateral trade.

He said Magnificent 7 UAE Expo will provide platform to enhance bilateral trade, expand investment horizons, support existing partnerships, improve level of communication at business level. It will highlight UAE’s economic, social contributions to Pakistan and celebrate cultural, religious, geographical ties. Trade volume between UAE & Pakistan was $2.86 billion in 2010 at 9% growth rate. Re-exports were worth $572 million, exports reached $511 million and imports $1.78 billion.
