Traders call for installation of CCTV cameras in markets to enhance security

Islamabad, April 02, 2014 (PPI-OT): The recent attack of terrorists at District Courts Islamabad has shattered the confidence of businessmen on security situation while after this incident security has been tightened in F-8 commercial area due to which traders and people are facing problems.

Therefore, government should consider shifting district courts from this business center to a safer place to save traders from further troubles.

This was said by Khalid Chaudhry, Senior Vice President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Secretary Information, Traders Action Committee, Islamabad while congratulating Jamil Sajjad on being elected as the President of Traders Welfare Association, I-8 Mughal Market, Islamabad.

He said due to apathy of civic body to undertake development works in markets, the condition of basic infrastructure in business areas has become deplorable. However, he said the new Chairman and Member Admin of CDA fully understand the problems of business community and hoped that they would allocate funds for improving the infrastructure in markets. He called upon the traders to get united for redress of their problems.

Speaking at the occasion, Jamil Sajjad, President, Traders Welfare Association, I-8 Mughal Market, Islamabad highlighted the various issues of the local traders. He said local administration should install CCTV cameras in markets to improve the security situation in business areas.

He said non-availability of a balanced rent control act is creating concerns of insecurity in traders and vowed that in collaboration with ICCI and Traders Action Committee, we will make all possible efforts for early promulgation of new rent law.
