Three-day Pakistan Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition concludes

Karachi, June 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): The Three-day Pakistan Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition, POGEE-2013, concluded at Expo Centre, Lahore, on a very successful note.

Where more than 230 companies from 30 countries show cased and demonstrated their state of the art technology products, which include, Solar panels, solar pumps, gas heat generators, solar lamps, transformer protection, transformer fittings and oil field equipment.

The international exhibition has extended an opportunity to bring together the international business professionals and the leading local industry players to exchange their technical and business expertise to acquaint the local industry with the latest developments in the energy sector. A large number of business professionals from oil, gas and energy industry, Ambassador from Belgium, Mr. Peter Clases and government officials, have also visited the exhibition.

Exhibitors, majority from, China, Germany, Iran, India, Italy, Japan, Pakistan, U.A.E., U.K. and U.S.A,displayedand demonstrated their technical brands and solution services at the Pakistan Oil, Gas and Energy Exhibition.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Power Distribution Program in cooperation with Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has attracted a large number of international and national visitors on its stall displayed at the POGEE-2013. The exhibition has shown up at a time when the country is going through severe energy crisis” said a representative.

At LESCO visitors were particularly interested in knowing how both organizations i.e LESCO and USAID are planning to tackle the severe energy crisis.

While speaking to the media, representatives of the USAID Power Distribution Program explained the assistance USAID has been providing to the DISCOs, with respect to a reduction in losses and improvement in revenues.

USAID’s stalls also presented a number of documentaries on its technical projects such as its meter replacement project at LESCO, Load Data Improvement project which is being implemented countrywide and will result in eliminating unplanned load-shedding along with other initiatives that will reduce technical and non-technical losses.

The presence of foreign exhibitors at the exhibition view Pakistan as a potential market for this sector as the local market has become quality conscious and are investing in latest technology, showed keen interest in quality products.

Anna Smirnova, representative from Russia, TELGEN, Russia stated “We were not expecting a decent response from the market earlier as this is our first visit but we are astonished to see good response from quality visitors who had taken keen interest in our products and we hope to develop good business relationships in the coming future”. They displayed gas heat generators which do not require maintenance.

Executive Director, Target Engineering Arsalan Mir said “Participating at POGEE was a very good experience, they had the best visitor response and through this platform they were able to get in contact with many new industry professionals. Their core business is to introduce Alternate Energy System in Pakistan USA, UAE, China and Italy is their few of the countries whose brands they are representing.
