Lahore, April 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): There is a vast room for town planning in Pakistan, as the rich land resources available in Pakistan can be utilized at optimal level by introducing Chinese town planning model through joint ventures with Chinese town planners. It was stated by Ms. Jiangli, Secretary General, Quingdao Chamber of Commerce and Industry today while exchanging her views at Pak-China Town Planning Exhibition jointly organized by Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) and Canal Garden Society at Canal Garden.

The exhibition was attended by a number of prominent dignitaries from the fields of architecture, town planning, construction, interior designing and housing. The prominent amongst the participants were Brigadier Ilyas, Haji Habibul Rehman Ex-IG, Punjab Police and Haji Altaf Hussain Director Intute Pvt. Ltd and Mr Moazzam Ghurki Director Intute Pvt. Ltd and Canal Garden society.

Leader of the Chinese delegation said their current visit was in fact a follow up of the previous meetings held with the counterparts under facilitation of PCJCCI. She said we are highly inspired by the ideas of Mr. Shah Faisal Afridi about the formation of Pak-China Collaborative Research Institute, Pak-China Technology University and particularly the idea of Relocating Chinese Handicrafts sector to Pakistan.

We are serious to materialize these ideas on ground, she said adding that the her delegation had brought some concrete proposals to implement Chinese Town planning Model in Pakistan that includes Model housing Towns incorporating Vertical houses, that would be Cost effective, durable, space effective and Environment Friendly.

Ms. Jiangli appreciated the endeavours of PCJCCI and Canal Garden Society for providing a platform where the plans could put into reality. She particularly admired the idea of forming a China Town in the Canal Garden Society that was given by Mr. Moazzam Ghurki, Director, Intute Pvt. Ltd and Canal Garden Society. She expressed gratitude for organizing “The Pak- China Town Planning Exhibition” in order to facilitate the 10-member Trade Delegation from Quingdao Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Moazzam Ghurkii, while welcoming the Chinese delegation, said that after the visit of Chinese President and signing of various significant trade deals with China a large number of the businessmen and technical experts are expected arrive at Pakistan and taking cognizance of this positive situation, the canal garden Society had made a vision to provide the Chinese fellows with a safer, modern and state of the art residential area that would make them feel at home far away from their home.

Mr. Haji Altaf Hussain Director Intute Pvt. Ltd and Canal Garden Society, giving a briefing on this occasion, said that China and Pakistan are the “Iron Friends” and strong brotherly relations, which have been knitted into bilateral economic activities after the visit of Chinese President.

He pointed out that to achieve the development goals both the Public and Private sector of Pakistan should join hands to work for the economic uplift of the country. He hoped that the Pak-China Town Planning Exhibition would prove to be a strong foundation in this regard. The event was followed by one to one meetings, presentations and question answer session .For the entertainment there was a musical program, stalls and scrumptious lunch for the guests.
