Passing out parade held at PMA Kakul

Kakul, October 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): Passing out parade held at PMA Kakul. Cadets of 138th PMA Long Course, 57th Integrated Course, 30th Technical Graduate Course and Grade 37 got commissioned as officers. Cadets from Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Palestine and Libya were also amongst passed out courses.

Chairman JCS Committee General Zubair Mehmood Hayat reviewed the Parade and gave awards to the distinguished cadets. Coveted Sword of honour awarded to Battalion Senior under Officer Ghulam Nabi, President’s Gold medal to Academy Senior under Officer Muhammad Bilal, Chairman’s medal to Battalion Senior under Officer Bishesh Thangden from Nepal and Chief of Army Staff cane was awarded to Company under Officer Mohsin Waseem from Technical Graduate Course. Company Junior under Officer Hamza Nawaz from Grade 37 also got COAS medal. Commandant Cane was awarded to Company under Officer Ali Zaheer Qureshi from Integrated Course.

Chief Guest while congratulating the passing out cadets said that you will be fortunate to command the soldiers who are known for their unflinching loyalty and sense of sacrifice. Our soldiers are known for delivering best results in the most challenging environment. A large number of senior serving and retired military officials, diplomats and relatives of passing out cadets witnessed the parade.

Chief of Army Staff meets UK Chief of Defence Staff

Rawalpindi, October 12, 2018 (PPI-OT): General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) during his visit to UK met General Sir Nicholson Carter, UK Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), where upon arrival he was also presented guard of honour. The meeting was followed up by delegation level talks on security environment and cooperation. Later COAS called on Gavin Williamson, Secretary of State for Defence, Gareth Bayley, Prime Minister’s special representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan (SREP) and Mark Sedwill, National Security Adviser (NSA).

During the meetings evolving regional security environment and matters of mutual interest were discussed. British leadership was unanimous in acknowledging Pakistan’s extraordinary achievements in Counter Terrorism and commended the improved security situation in Pakistan and its positive efforts towards regional peace and stability.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) said that Pakistan is moving steadily towards enhanced stability and is ready to take Pakistan-UK bilateral security relationship to the next level for mutual benefit, and in other fields of common interests. The discussions ranged from the bilateral bond created by sizeable Pakistan diaspora in Britain as well as shared interests in evolving global geo-political and geo-economic environment.

Prime Minister Imran Khan along with Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and lead federal ministers visited Headquarters Southern Command at Quetta Cantt

Quetta, October 06, 2018 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Imran Khan along with Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and lead federal ministers visited Headquarters Southern Command at Quetta Cantt. General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) received the PM at Quetta Air Base. A detailed briefing on security situation of the province, challenges and response was given. PM was also briefed about socio-economic development based Khushal Balochistan program, security of CPEC projects and progress of fencing along Pak-Afg border.

COAS said that having achieved stability in troubled areas of KP, lately our focus has been on Balochistan which is economic future of Pakistan. PM acknowledged and appreciated contributions of security forces towards improving peace, stability and socio-economic development of the province. PM said that through a comprehensive national effort, cooperation between federal and provincial governments and assistance of Army we shall realise the true potentials of Balochistan. He said that only a cohesive national effort shall In Shaa Allah take provinces and the country to the rightful destination of peace, progress and prosperity.
