Huawei to launch Nova Series in Pakistan

Islamabad, August 16, 2018 (PPI-OT): There’s much to see on a product spec sheet – for instance, how much the company cares about its brand. From the hardware we can extrapolate the types of apps a device can run, as well as its target audience. Each brand serves its own group of consumers – like Huawei, most people associate the brand with business-centric devices.

A straight-forward design, large battery, bank-level security features are all part of Huawei’s offerings, so it’s no wonder that consumers label the devices like the way they do. However, with the launch of Nova series in Pakistan for the first time, Huawei gets to display another sticker: the maker of devices for fashionistas.

With their fashionable appearances, Nova series devices have won the hearts of many young users since their debut. Young users pursue individuality, enjoy entertainment and place a great emphasis on looks, and Huawei Nova series ticks all the boxes. Made for today’s youth, the Huawei Nova series has grown from strength to strength since its launch. Recently, it’s gotten two new members: the Huawei Nova 3 and Huawei Nova 3i.

The Nova series has always had a focus on appearance and selfie features – that did not change with the Huawei Nova 3 series. Featuring improvements upon its predecessor, Huawei Nova 3 series comes with a trendy minimal bezel display, numerous colour options, AI features hardware HDR effects, 3D Qmojis, and more.

With all these features, Huawei is confident that the Huawei Nova 3 series will help it break into new markets. As a series specifically for the young generation, the Nova series has its own understanding of the trend, which is illustrated to its target audience via design. The Huawei Nova 3 series is equipped with a 6.3-inch FullView display with a wide aspect ratio, minimized bezels, and optimized body for improved grip. All these reflect the Huawei Nova 3 series’ commitment to providing youth with fashionable and fantastic visual experience.

On the back panel, the device sports a metal chassis with a clear glass cover, underneath which trendy colours – including the gradient colour – shine through with incredible vibrancy. All these prove the Huawei Nova stands at the forefront of popular culture. Stunning appearance is indeed a product advantage of Nova series, but the capability to take beautiful selfies is also key in this market segment. The Huawei Nova 3 series enhances the selfie experience with its quad camera. On the front, the 24MP plus 2MP dual camera setup push the selfie capability to new heights.

The f/2.0 wide aperture high-resolution lens is joined by a professional depth sensing lens to bring young users more natural and beautiful selfies. Besides providing DSLR-level image quality, Huawei Nova 3 series produces photos with bokeh effects that look natural and realistic. That’s not all, Huawei Nova 3 series has a trump card: smart selfies and AI beautification. After Huawei established its selfie laboratory, the company has made a great effort in researching its global user base.

Analyzing the big data on user sentiments on selfie beautification, Huawei was able to quantify beauty and use its understanding to tweak its beautifying products so that they better fit their users’ preferences. This commitment to research enabled Huawei to offer devices that empower users to take beautiful photos with minimal effort.

With scientific and quantitative techniques to serve young users, taking graceful, gorgeous and beautified selfies is no longer a challenge. It is an exclusive application of Nova series, and a new label to separate from Huawei’s business phones.

The Huawei Nova series is the best looking and most ideal selfie-taking device at its price point. If Huawei continues its streak of excellence serving this target audience, we believe that this new “made for youth” identity will eventually rise to prominence and stand proudly alongside its reputation as the go-to manufacturer of business devices.

Huawei Publishes Global Connectivity Index 2018

Lahore, May 31, 2018 (PPI-OT): Huawei, a global leader in ICT related solutions and systems recently published the global connectivity index 2018.The Huawei Global Connectivity Index 2018 (GCI), now in its fifth year, the GCI ‘S-curve’ is a visual representation of 79 nations’ path to the digital economy and the relationship between GCI score and GDP. Huawei’s Global Connectivity Index (GCI) measures how nations are progressing with digital transformation using Information and Communications Technology (ICT). It is a quantitative assessment that comprehensively evaluates connectivity from both a national and industrial perspective.

According to the Huawei GCI index Pakistan currently ranks 77th on the GCI in 2018. Pakistan’s lower ranking is due to the fact that information technology is not streamlined and it scored a 2 for ICT investment while the average score for these 80 countries with an average of 4.4 this year. Its Internet penetration remains low, with the volume of mobile broadband services exceeding the fixed broadband sector of the market. Smartphone penetration rate continued to go upward and users experience in terms of FBB affordability, cloud migration and broadband download speed had improved for the year.

Broadband access in Pakistan in particular remains limited, but this sector of the market is finally starting to expand, having been given a massive boost with the arrival of mobile broadband. The country has been pursuing an aggressive IT policy, aimed at boosting Pakistan’s drive for economic modernization. Of special significance has been the administration’s provisioning of e-government services.

The Huawei GCI report also highlights opportunities that are available in Pakistan. The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has finalized the “Digital Pakistan Policy 2017” envisions Pakistan to become a strategic enabler for an accelerated digitization ecosystem that expands the knowledge based economy and spur socio economic growth. The key goals for the initiative will be to create a digital ecosystem supported by infrastructure and institutional frameworks for rapid delivery of innovative digital services, applications and content.

It is a shift away from the initial piece-meal approach to a more holistic technology strategy clearly focused on ICT as a broad enabler for every sector of socioeconomic development. It will also promote the use of technology in education, health, agriculture and other key socio economic sectors. Enhancing the current market size of e-commerce will also be another key focus as the market is estimated to carry an enormous growth potential due to exponential growth in broadband subscribers over the years.

The growth trends projected to persist in the future with overseas investments to continue to grow in e-commerce. One way to promote e-commerce is by providing and enabling an environment where Payment Service Providers (PSP) and Payment Service Operators (PSO) can operate and establish an effective e-commerce platform and take e-commerce activities in Pakistan to the next level.

Huawei Technologies pointed out that: “We are now witnessing a paradigm shift initiated by AI according to the GCI study, advanced economies that saw growth from ICT development plateau are using ‘Intelligent Connectivity’ to open new opportunities, while some developing economies are also finding ways to tap the new technology to speed up their own strategic growth plans.”

Huawei’s new “emotion ui – 5.0” with major redesign – launch expected this fall

Lahore, September 16, 2016 (PPI-OT): Huawei has been the master inventor in the high technology products over the years. With its unique approach towards Android, Huawei has developed its own Emotion ROM, which has recently gained great popularity and is expected to be re-launched, as EMUI 5.0, after a major upgrade, sometime during fall 2016.

According to industry sources, Huawei has been working on a new major upgrade to the OS – version 5.0, which will bring an entirely new, smartly simplified UI, one closely resembling Stock Android. The current EMUI 4.1 used in the Huawei P9 smartphones is also very advanced, but the newly developed EMUI 5.0 will offer even simpler menu structure and navigation scheme.

Huawei’s Head of Mobiles Division – Li Changzhu stated that; the new EMUI has a new cleaner and minimalist look on the user-interface, while not affecting the original firmware module. This new-found push towards simplicity in the interface is done to resonate better with Western customers. However, this will surely not come at the expense of functionality or options to be customized, which play an important role in EMUI.

Emotion UI 5.0 launch will probably coincide with IFA 2016 in Berlin and in all likelihood, a new Huawei Mate 9 device will be unveiled as a superior smart device in technology and user experience. According to GSM Info; “The EMUI 5.0 will offer an interface that resembles vanilla Android, with a lot more customizable options. The changes are geared towards making EMUI more palatable to a Western audience.

With Huawei’s strong presence in Europe and increasing foothold in the U.S. market, dialing the interface back will go a long way toward making its devices more appealing. The redesign of EMUI 5.0 is being led by chief UX designer – Abigail Brody, who was formerly the creative director for iOS at Apple.
