Sushma Swaraj’s speech termed bid to hoodwink world

Srinagar, September 27, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders have termed the claim made by Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj during her speech at UN General Assembly on Jammu and Kashmir far from reality, saying that Kashmir has never been part of India.

The illegally-detained All Parties Hurriyet Conference General Secretary, Shabbir Ahmad while commenting on the speech in a statement in Srinagar, today, said by resorting to lies at the international forum like United Nations, India has made a vain attempt to mislead the world about the historical reality over Jammu and Kashmir.

“If Jammu and Kashmir is part of India, it should be given a fair chance to decide its future as was given to all the princely states at the time of partition of India. The move will make everything clear and end the Pakistan-India rivalry in the South Asian region,” he added.

“Aren’t Indian activities in Jammu and Kashmir the acts of terrorism? The lakhs of killings, destruction of properties worth billions, rendering lakhs of children and women orphans and widows are no less than terrorist activities,” he added.

The Hurriyet forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement said that Jammu and Kashmir had never been, nor would be the part of India as it is a disputed territory, whose future status is yet to be decided. A statement issued by the forum while describing the speech of Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj as unfortunate said that New Delhi was misleading the world community through false statements on the dispute.

Other Hurriyet leaders including Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Bilal Siddiqui, Zafar Akbar Butt, Zamruda Habib, Yasmeen Raja, Fareeda Behanji, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, Mohammad Sharief Sartaj, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Ghulam Nabi War Shahid Saleem, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, Farooq Ahmad Dar and Firdous Ahmad Shah in their statements also condemned the Sushma Swaraj’s speech on Kashmir.
