Strengthening bilateral cooperation with US in education field among top priorities: Masood

Pakistan says strengthening bilateral cooperation with the United States in the field of education is one of its topmost priorities.

This was stated by Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States Masood Khan during his visit to University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

He said as Pakistan charters its way forward to establish foundations of a strong economy, there are immense opportunities for forging new linkages in the areas of education, research, technology and skill development.

The ambassador said people to people contacts make an important component of Pak-US bilateral relations as they promote better mutual understanding and partnership.

He said professional ties between our scientists, researchers and academicians have always been an important pillar of bilateral relations and joint ventures between Pakistani and US educational institutions are cornerstones of these ties.

On the occasion, Chancellor of the University Kumble R. Subbaswamy reflected on the institute’s frequent exchange programs with Pakistan under the UMass Civic Initiative that is run in partnership with the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ study of the US Institutes.
