Solar energy tube wells soon in Punjab, says minister

SIALKOT –– The provincial government would soon install the “solar energy tube wells in active collaboration with China for providing the maximum relief to the energy crisis-beaten growers and farmers with a sole aim to pave the way of bringing green revolution , besides, boosting the agriculture sector in Punjab.

Provincial Minister for Food Punjab Ch. Abdul Ghafur disclosed this while talking to the newsmen here. He said that the solar energy tube wells will also help to over come the menace of the aggregating energy crisis.

He said that the time was high now to do some thing practical for modernizing and strengthening the agricultural sector, as the growers and farmers play a backbone role in agricultural economy, which needs to have some extra measures for developing the agricultural produce in the country.

He said that the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had given the tractors to farmers and growers under the Green Tractor Scheme on subsidized rates during his previous regime in 1997. He said that now one million tractors would be given to the growers and farmers under “Green Tractor Scheme during Shehbaz Sharif’s this regime. He linked country’s economical stability with the prosperity of the growers and farmers.

He accused of the federal government for targeting Punjab especially developing electricity and gas crisis and depriving the Punjab from other needs as a punishment for being a strong hold of PML-N.
