Sika Pakistan will set up manufacturing facility in Sundar Industrial Estate

Lahore, February 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):Pakistan is a promising market for supplier of materials for infrastructure development. Annual Development Plan allocates PKR 1,656 billon for 2015 to 2018 by Punjab. 40% of this is being spent on Infrastructure Development (roads, irrigation, energy, public buildings and urban development). This is in addition to national allocations and allocations by other provinces.

Punjab Board of Investment and Trade facilitated the land purchase by Sika Pakistan with support from Punjab Industrial Estate Development and Management Company. As a result of facilitation and constant engagement, Sika Pakistan will be setting up its manufacturing facility in Sundar Industrial Estate. An agreement to sell industrial land will be signed shortly between the two parties.

Sika Pakistan’s proposed manufacturing facility aims to create 100 direct jobs and provide opportunities for business to 2,000 families through retailer, applicator and distribution networks said Head of GCC, Sika Group. Infrastructure development led to strong demand for manufacturing chemicals, which has created a new market for Sika’s products in Pakistan. Sika Pakistan will now commence manufacturing in Lahore with initial focus on TM concrete, refurbishment and flooring.
