Sharjeel Memon advises media and opposition not to criticize police unnecessary as they are working hard and rendering sacrifices for people

Karachi, May 21, 2015 (PPI-OT): Appreciating the performance of the Sindh police, the Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon has advised the media and opposition not to criticize the police unnecessary as they are working hard and rendering sacrifices for the people.

The Minister said the police also the victim of the target killers and negative remarks against the police dishearten the force while the Sindh police proved it has best in all four provinces and resolved so many high profile cases including the Safoora Bus incident as well.

Addressing on the resolution in Sindh Assembly the minister said there was no political victimization in any part of the Sindh and this credit went to PPP Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his policy of reconciliation.

He said the opponents criticized the government and some media anchors blamed the government for political induction in police force and interference in administration. He declared there was no dictation to police and the success in resolving the Safoora incident is the result of the free hand given to police by the chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah.

He said the chief minister also posted well reputed police officers in the province and they are free to exercise their powers. He said Punjab police could not trace out the terrorists and criminals but Sindh police traced out the terrorists. He said the weapon used in Safoora bus incident recovered from the arrested terrorists who killed Ismaili community members. There are concrete evidences and terrorists must be punished.

He said unnecessary and negative remarks passed by the TV anchors against the police were in fact the insult of the victim policemen. The Minister said in the past the law and order situation was worst in Sindh and kidnapping for ransom and dacoit culture was everywhere.

But he said now the law and order situation improved due to the leadership of Sayed Qaim Ali Shah who is the head of the targeted operation going on in Karachi. He said in the past police were used against the PPP for victimization but there is no culture of political victimization in the province and credit went to Asif Ali Zardari.
