Shab-e-Qadr observed with religious fervour in IOK

Srinagar, July 03, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Shab-e-Qadr was observed with religious fervour as lakhs of Muslims offered night-long prayers in mosques, shrines and imambargahs. The biggest congregation was held at Hazratbal Shrine where thousands of people joined special prayers during the night and also listened to sermons on the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Thousands of people also participated in special prayers at historic Jamia Masjid where Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, delivered a sermon after ‘Taraveeh’ prayers. Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the teachings of Islam and various aspects of the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) and urged Muslims to follow them. The night long prayers were also held at all mosques and shrines across the occupied territory. Thousands of Muslims also offered night long prayers mosques, shrines across the territory.
