Security Plan for Federal Capital needs to be revised: Yassar Sakhi Butt/ Police to address all problems of business community: Muhammad Yousaf

Islamabad: Business community is playing a vital role in promoting the local economy and Islamabad Police will take every possible measure to address all problems of businessmen. This was said by Muhammad Yousaf, Senior Superintendent of Police, Islamabad, while addressing business community at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI).

He assured that he would leave no stone unturned to come up with citizens expectation and to maintain law and order situation in the city. He said that action has been taken against a number of terrorists in Islamabad which shows the good performance of Islamabad police.

He said that there was no doubt that citizens were facing problems due to pickets and barriers but these were necessary to ensure tight security.

Muhammad Yousaf emphasized on promoting the idea of citizen police liaison committee and said that through private sector participation, police could reduce crimes and provide more protection to the society. He requested for greater cooperation from the business community to make the security system more efficient.

In his welcome address, Yassar Sakhi Butt, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that rising acts of terrorism were damaging business activities and discouraging investment, therefore, police should take measures to curb this trend.

ICCI President said that we are passing through a phase of time in which security has become an important issue and especially in the Capital city it has to be handled even more professionally. He said that Capital Police should use modern technology because the security situation as well as theft and car snatching were on the rise.

Butt said that there should be greater interaction between the local community and police force so that the level of cooperation could be improved. He said that diplomatic activity has decreased in our main markets, therefore measures should be taken to ensure their safety which would provide benefit to the traders and business community as well as benefiting the economy.

He also called for removing of unnecessary pickets and barriers which were put on different points in all around the city and causing immense problem for the commuters.
