Rauf opposes more tax burden on small traders

Karachi: Sindh Minister for Commerce and Industries Rauf Siddiqui has said that tax net should be increased instead of further increasing tax burden on small traders. Talking to a delegation of small traders led by Chairmen of Karachi Traders Alliance Ateeq Mir at his office, he said small traders need encouragement. He said two holidays a week is having a negative impact on our economy.

He said the government fully knows the problems of small traders and trying its best to resolve them, adding traders and industrialists are playing their due role in improving economic conditions of the country.

He said we have started many projects in different districts of Sindh including Nooriabad, Hyderabad and Kotri. He said industrial infrastructure is being laid for a rapid industrial growth in different industrial estates. He said industrial plots have been allotted through balloting but unfortunately owners of these plots are not setting up industries there. He said foreign investment is not coming due to poor law and order situation and domestic investors are facing problems due the energy crisis.

Rauf Siddiqui urged small industrialists to present their suggestions so that their problems could be solved as soon as possible.
