‘Puppet regime prolonging detention of political prisoners’

Srinagar, May 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, expressing serious concern over the plight of illegally detained political prisoners lodged in Baramulla jail has demanded speedy trail of their cases. The prisoners at the Baramulla jail went on indefinite hunger strike on Wednesday against the delay in hearing of the fake cases registered against them. Nine prisoners, who were on hunger strike, were hospitalized on Saturday after their condition deteriorated. Three of them were shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment.

Nayeem Ahmed Khan presiding over a meeting of his party worker in Kupwara said that the prisoners lodged in Baramulla jail were on hunger strike for the past four days against the continued and mysterious absence of the Public Prosecutor at district courts. He said that the puppet administration was using every tactic to pro-long the unlawful detention of political prisoners and absence of the prosecutor at Baramulla prison was part of those oppressive methods.
