SIALKOT: The Punjab government would encourage the private sector investment for enhancing energy production energy in the province.
According to the official sources, the Punjab government would also provide all-possible protection and needed facilities to all those private investors, who would invest for enhancing power and energy production, adding that such larger scale investment would help overcome the power crisis once for all.
Official sources said that more than 1100 million acres water has been wasted after falling into the sea during the last three decades in Pakistan due to the non-availability of the big water reservoirs in the country.
The officials said that early construction of new water reservoirs is vital for country’s development and present government was making all out sincere efforts to develop a consensus on the burning issue. They said that the thousands of acres of agricultural land has been lying useless since long due to the non-availability of the irrigation water.
They said that the consumption of electricity has been rising from 8 percent to 10 percent every year, while; there is no increase in the electricity production.
They said that the there is great potential of development in power sector and now the larger scale participation of private sector would enhance its production.
