PSF approaches world squash bodies to ensure Pak’s participation in WJC 2018

Pakistan Squash Federation has approached the world squash bodies to ensure participation of Pakistan players in the World Junior Championship 2018.

Earlier Indian High Commission refused to grant visas to Pakistani players and officials.

World Junior Squash Individual & Team Championship is scheduled to be played in Chennai, India from 18 to 23 of next month.

According to an official of Pakistan Squash Federation, PSF submitted visa request in April but the Indian High Commission returned the passports without visas after a span of two-month.

He said visa processing time for India as per the official website of High Commission of India is 35 days, whereas event is planned to start from 18 July but the PSF had applied for Indian visa well in advance.

He said passports were returned by Indian High Commission stating that they are not in a position to issue visas to Pakistan Contingent and no substantial reason was mentioned.

Pakistan is the defending champions as in 2016 the Pakistani Juniors won the championship after defeating the Egypt by 2-1 in Poland.
