Profit after tax of KAPCO increases to Rs 6.526 billion

KARACHI: The profit after tax of Kot Addu Power Company (KAPCO) has increased to Rs 6.526 billion in the year ended June 30, 2011 (FY11) as compared to Rs 5.089 billion earned in FY10. The company’s earning per share has increased to Rs 7.41 in the period under review against Rs 5.78 in the same period last year.

The board of directors of the company in its meeting held on Monday recommended a final cash dividend for the year ended June 30, 2011 at Rs 3.50 per share, i.e. 35 percent. This is in addition to the interim cash dividend already paid at Rs 3.00 per share.
According to the financial results sent to Karachi Stock Exchange, the company’s sales declined to Rs 74.350 billion in FY11 against Rs 85.934 billion in FY10. The cost of sales reduced to Rs 63.652 billion against Rs 76.010 billion. The company’s other operating income increased to Rs 8.381 billion against Rs 3.773 billion. The company’s profit before taxation increased to Rs 9.906 billion in FY11 against Rs 7.730 billion in FY10.
