Prime Minister announces cut in power tariff for industrial users by Rs3 per unit with effect from January 1, 2016

Karachi, December 29, 2015 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has attended the auspicious occasion of 39th FPCCI Exports Awards 2015 organized by Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The award ceremony was attended by the renowned exporters and industrialists and received the awards for having best performance in exports.

President FPCCI, Mian Muhammad Adrees addressed the award recipients and attendance about the challenges faced by the business community and the players of economy in Pakistan, which has resultant in the decreasing of Pakistani exports, while he also identified the recent global aspects of recessions as a major cause of this.

He requested to Prime Minister Pakistan for decreasing the electricity tariffs for the industries and providing a relieving facility to the exporters in terms of increasing the Pakistani exports. Mian Muhammad Adrees assured to have productive industrial growth after the completion of projects related to the electricity for the year 2017-18; it will lead the increase in employment opportunities as well.

He appreciated the role of Pakistan Army and Rangers Pakistan for having a noticeable peace in the country by their operations. Prime Minister Pakistan Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made the announcement about the decreasing of 3 rupees per unit of Electricity with effect from January 1, 2016 for the industries and it will increase the Pakistani exports with low cost of production.

Prime Minister has encouraged the efforts of Rangers Pakistan in Sindh and appreciated the Operation Zarb-e-Azb by Pakistan Army for maintaining peace in Pakistan. Prime Minister hoped to have new industries in coming years for having good exports in future with new employment opportunities.

Federal Minister of Finance Ishaq Dar stated soon to have a special package for solving the issues related to withholding tax and small traders’ problems; which will increase the amount of tax collection for the development of the country. Prime Minister honoured the best performing exporters of Pakistan by distributing the trophies of 39th FPCCI Exports Awards 2015.
