People stage massive pro-freedom demos in Tral

Srinagar, May 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, people staged massive pro-freedom demonstrations at Hari-Parigam in Tral, the native village of martyred youth, Rafiq Ahmad Ahangar.

Rafiq Ahmad Ahangar embraced martyrdom in a clash with Indian troops in Buchoo Baala area of Tral on Friday. As soon as the word about his martyrdom spread, villagers took to streets and staged massive pro-freedom demonstrations. Indian police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel burst tear smoke shells to disperse the protestors.

Thousands of people participated in funeral prayers of Rafiq Ahangar after the police handed over his body to his family.

On the other hand, Indian police resorted to teargas shelling to disperse the demonstrators who were protesting in Palhallan area of Baramulla against the recent killing of a youth in a fake encounter in Srinagar. One person was injured in the police action.
