Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves reach US$22,996.6 million

Karachi, July 28, 2016 (PPI-OT):State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced that the country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at US$22,996.6 million on 22 July 2016. The following is the break-up of the foreign reserves position:

Foreign reserves held by SBP have reached US$18,036.9 million;

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at US$ 4,959.7 million;

Total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood US$ 22,996.6 million.

During the week ending 22 July 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$40 million to US$18,037 million, compared to US$18,077million in the previous week. During the week, SBP made payments of US$83 million on account of external debt servicing.
