Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position of March 20, 2014

Karachi, March 20, 2014 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $9,648.9 million on 14th March 2014.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –


i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $4,808.5 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : $4,840.4 million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : $9,648.9 million

During the week ending 14Mar2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $185 million to $4,808 million compared to $4,623 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is attributed to receipts of $219 million from multilateral bilateral and other official sources.

During the week ending 14Mar2014, total official payments were US$34 million.
