Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position of March 13, 2014

Karachi, March 13, 2014 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $9,375.7 million on 07Mar2014.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: –


i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: $4,622.6 million
ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : $4,753.1 million
iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : $9,375.7 million

During the week ending 07Mar2014, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves increased by $702 million to $4,623 million compared to $3,921 million in the previous week. The increase in the Central Bank reserves is attributed to receipts from multilateral and bilateral sources.

During the week ending 07Mar2014, total official payments were US$92 million.
