Pakistan’s 3rd Annual Kinnow Exhibition opens in Rotterdam

Karachi: Pakistan’s kinnow went on display in 3rd Annual Exhibition of Pakistani kinnow organized by Commercial Wing of Pakistan Embassy & Trade Development Authority of Pakistan at Hotel Novotel Brainpark Rotterdam. The object was to promote Pakistani citrus to trade channels in the Netherlands. A large number of Dutch buyers of fresh fruits visited.

Besides attractive display of Pakistani kinnow set up at exhibition, it was available for tasting along with its freshly squeezed juice. Buyers were impressed with its taste and juice-yield, says a message received here Tuesday. Kinnow exhibition, organized for third consecutive year in the Netherlands, has become a regular annual B2B event and number of buyers attending has gradually increased.

Tariq Iqbal Puri Chief Executive TDAP said the Netherlands is gateway to Europe for trade of fresh produce. TDAP has been implementing a comprehensive plan for promotion of kinnow on Dutch market. The plan includes a kinnow exhibition in Rotterdam, POS promotion of fruit and taste development campaign in Hanos, leading Dutch supermarket chain.

Speaking to buyers, Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry Ambassador of Pakistan said consistent strategy to promote Pakistani kinnow in the Netherlands has started bearing fruit and juicy mandarin established a strong foothold in Dutch mainstream market. M Nick, buying manager of Hanos Amsterdam says Hanos introduced kinnow in its assortment in 2010; due to encouraging response from consumers they have decided to extend its availability to other stores.
