Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority organizes One Day Workshop on Halal Food Management Systems

Karachi, September 01, 2016 (PPI-OT): PSQCA organized one day workshop on Halal Food Management Systems-PS 3733:2016 at Pakistan Institute of Training for Standardization (PITS), Head office PSQCA, Karachi aimed capacity building on PS 3733:2016 for Awareness on Control points for Halal Food Management system, Halal meat production and export, Hidden ingredients in Halal Foods, Halal production requirement for nutritional supplement and Labelling Packaging and coatings for Halal foods have been created and the Role of National Standard Body, PSQCA in harmonization of standards.

The workshop was participated by people from Academia, Quality Assurance people from Industries including Nestle Pakistan Limited, Engro Foods Limited, National Foods Limited, Mehran Spice and Food Industries, IGLOO Private Limited, Youngs Private Limited, Lotte Kolson Private Limited, Hub Pak Salt Refinery, KFC Pakistan, Bar B Q Tonight Restaurants, Coco-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited, Shield Cooperation Limited, Technical experts from Gulf Halal Centre, Eminent Professors from Karachi University, NED University of Engineering and Technology and DHA Suffa University and Sr. Research Officers from PSQCA.

Moreover, the participants were from amongst who had taste of understanding the PS 3733:2016, they raised questions and discussed it with the guest experts. Engr. Muhammad Khalid Siddiq, Director General PSQCA in his welcome remarks highlighted the importance of trainings in need based areas and role of PSQCA in harmonization of standards.

The workshop proceeded by two eminent speakers Mufti Naeem Shahid, Chief Executive, Halaal Foundation, Karachi and Dr. Syed M. Ghufran Saeed Expert Food Technologist, University of Karachi who delivered a keynote lectures and given their presentations. To conclude the workshop, Mr. Ghulam Umer Kazi, Director International Affairs and Trainings, PSQCA proposed the vote of thanks and stressed that to further enhance the interaction between PSQCA and Stakeholders. At the end, the certificates were awarded to the participants by Director General PSQCA Engr. Muhammad Khalid Siddiq.
