Pakistan keen to further strengthen ties with Tunisia: President

Islamabad, August 12, 2015 (PPI-OT):President Mamnoon Hussain has stated that Pakistan is keen to further strengthen its relations with Tunisia and other Maghreb countries. The President said this while talking to Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Tunisia Mr. Zaheer Pervaiz Khan who called on him here at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.

The President emphasized the high importance Pakistan attaches to its relations with the countries of the Maghreb in general and Tunisia in particular. The President observed that trade volume between Pakistan and Tunisia is below potential and called for making concerted efforts for further enhancing trade between the two countries.

The President underscored the importance of enhancing business to business contacts through the respective Chambers of Commerce of the two countries. The President advised Ambassador-designate to coordinate with other Pakistani High Commissioners in the region to boost mutual trade in areas of common interest.

The President observed that Tunisia has a rich culture and called for frequent exchange of cultural delegations between the two countries to further strengthen the brotherly ties. The President wished the Ambassador-designate success in his new assignment.
