Pakistan Commerce Minister to visit Amritsar Trade Expo

Amritsar: Pakistan Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim has agreed to visit Trade Expo to be organized in Amritsar between December 15, PHD Chamber said here Monday, Press Trust of India PTI reported.

“Pakistan Commerce Minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim has agreed to participate in the event (trade Expo) for an interactive session on Bilateral Trade Relations with Pakistan,” PHD chamber said in a release. Minister’s visit follows recent talks to normalize bilateral trade relationship between the two countries.

Release said various industry bodies from Pakistan will have interactions with trade associations in Indian Punjab during the Expo, to be organized by PHD chamber. “Being a part of integrated approach towards better trade ties, such interactions play role of a catalyst,” PHD Chamber Chairman, Punjab Committee, Rajiv Bali said. More than 800 visa requests from Pakistani traders to visit PHDPITEX 2011 have already been recommended.
