Pakistan, Bahrain to hold bilateral political consultations inaugural round on 12 July in Islamabad

Islamabad, July 11, 2016 (PPI-OT):Pakistan and Bahrain have decided to hold Bilateral Political Consultations and the inaugural session will be held on 12 July 2016 in Islamabad. A Bahraini delegation led by HE Sheikha Rana Bint Isa Al Khalifa, Under-Secretary for Arab and Afro – Asian Affairs and Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will visit Islamabad from 12 to 13th July 2016. Sheikha Rana is also an important member of the Royal family of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Pakistani side will be led by Mr. Tasawar Khan, Additional Secretary (Middle East).

Besides discussion on the full spectrum of bilateral relations, the two sides will focus on upgrading their existing economic and commercial relations. In addition, a landmark MoU on the establishment of a campus of King Hamad University of Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences in Islamabad will also be signed between the two countries. According to the MoU, Bahrain will finance the construction of a nursing university in Islamabad with the capacity to house 2000 students and graduation of 500 highly qualified nurses every year. The holding of the inaugural session of Bilateral Political Consultations signifies the increasing warmth between the two brotherly countries.
