Pakistan and Turkmenistan to cooperate in agri research

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkmenistan will cooperate in the field of agricultural research. This was discussed in a meeting held between the ambassador of Turkmenistan, Sapar Berdiniyazov and Chairman of Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) on August 02, 2011.

The envoy said that the agricultural delegation of Pakistan would participate in the joint commission meeting to be held in Ashgabat in September, 2011. He said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan can cooperate in cotton research, development and exchange of cotton germplasm, exchange of experience on selection and certification of seeds and also initiate cooperation in the field of seed growing, registration and quality evaluation of seeds of wheat, cotton, rice and other agricultural crops.

Dr Muhammad Afzal, Chairman PARC assured the ambassador of Turkmenistan that PARC will provide all possible assistance to Turkmenistan in the field of agricultural research, training and exchange of germplasm.
