Pak-India talks will create atmosphere of trust: APHC

Srinagar, December 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed the hope that an atmosphere of trust will be created after the resumption of talks between Pakistan and India which will enable the dialogue process meaningful in the future. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq addressing a joint meeting of APHC Executive and General Councils and Working Committee in Srinagar, today, said that the two countries should demonstrate seriousness in resolving all issues including the Kashmir dispute.

He said that Kashmir was a political dispute concerning the future of the millions of Kashmiri people, who had been rendering sacrifices for its settlement for the past over six decades. He stressed the inclusion of the representatives of Kashmir people in the talks as a basic party to the dispute.

The meeting expressed concern over authorities’ plan to give on lease to Indian Army the Bajpathri forest area close to Yusmarg hill resort in Badgam district to set up a firing range. It said that the implementation of the plan would deprive Kashmir an important tourist resort, besides it will spoil water resources in the area.
