Pak China Joint Chamber of Commerce in an effort to revolutionize IT industry with collaboration of Chinese envoys

Lahore, December 16, 2016 (PPI-OT):Pak China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry is thriving to invigorate a revolutionary phase of information technology with the collaboration of China under China Pakistan Economic Corridor. It was expresses by president PCJCCI, Mr. Wang Zihai in a meeting with a three member Chinese Delegation from BODA software solutions, Sichuan, China. The Delegation was spearheaded by Mr. Qiu Ziynn while other dignitaries of the delegation included Dr. Ahsanullah Awan and Mr. Xinchao.

The Delegation visited with a purpose to enhance bilateral cooperation and trade between the IT sectors of the two countries. The visit to Pakistan was in-line with the Chinese government’s push towards enhancing trade ties with neighbourly countries particularly Pakistan.

The main aim of the IT delegation was to inform the relevant Chinese stakeholders about the opportunities available in Pakistan’s IT industry, to solicit Chinese interest in outsourcing IT work to Pakistani companies, and to partner with Pakistani companies for extending footprint of Chinese IT companies.

Mr. Wang Zihai apprised the delegation by providing information regarding Pakistan’s IT and software industry. The Chinese were intrigued to know that Pakistan has over 2000 IT companies developing high end, enterprise grade software solutions for world’s largest and premier companies and that Pakistani IT companies regularly win awards at international IT events. To enhance the importance of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the two countries have to step forward in agreement to develop an e-corridor for greater connectivity, stressed Mr. Wang.

The head of Delegation, Mr. Qiu Ziynn mentioned that CPEC is currently focusing on infrastructure development and energy generation, however the scope of CPEC will reasonably be expanded in the future to contain other mainstream fields like science and information technology as well. He said that expanding the cooperation to science and information technology will boost the bilateral trade and economic ties in a more modern and digital way.

Secretary General PCJCCI, Mr. M. Salahuddin Hanif informed the delegates about the concerted efforts of Pakistani government for the development of IT industry. He told that the IT and Telecom ministry is already collaborating for the development of an ‘e-commerce gateway framework’.

This gateway will be paving opportunities for online commercial ventures which could flourish their business and market share to extended customer base, foreign consumers and online businesses. He also informed that Pakistan’s mobile app, gaming, and animation development industry is fast progressing. Export of mobile phone apps is fetching US $ 10 million to the country every month while the yearly exports have now exceeded US $ 2 billion, mentioned Mr. Salahuddin.

The attending delegates appreciated this vision of the government and hailed initiatives being taken by the Ministry of IT for uplifting the sector and also expressed interest for mutual collaboration with Pakistan in this potent sector. It was jointly agreed to revolutionize this important sector with joint efforts and operative planning. It was notable that Software and IT industry works as an underline support for this colossal business infrastructure, it is the need of time to facilitate business ventures in this key segment.
