Minister of State for Education hosts 6th Inter Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference

Islamabad, August 11, 2015 (PPI-OT): Minister of State for Education Engr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman hosted 6th IPEMC (Inter Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference) in Islamabad today. This conference is held in every three months to discuss policy agendas regarding education in the country. All provinces are working collectively for the betterment of education and federal government is here to help and facilitate all the provinces.

Revision of National Education Policy 2009, National Strategy of Education with the use of ICT (Information Communication Technology), first draft policy of TEVT (Technical and vocational training), Sustainable Development goals post 2015 were discussed in the conference. Special attention was given to the ICT policy, all educational institutes will be having the uniform ICT standards very soon. Minister of State along with other provincial education ministers decided to formulate a committee on it.

Rs. 10 crore has been given for NCC (National Curriculum Council) wing by the Prime Minister, NCC building has been handed over to the Federal Education ministry and a roadmap has been finalized for NCC and work has been started on it, said the State Minister. Further he added that the first draft of TVET has also been presented in the conference it will be finalized and presented in the parliament for the approval in next 30 days.

Unfortunately Pakistan has not been able to achieve MDGs, now SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) have been developed for 2030. We have made a committee for SDGs which will start working for it from today so that we will be able to achieve SDGs on time, stated the State Minister.

Minister of State said that the difference in public-private education and difference in education standards among provinces have also been discussed in the conference. Moreover he said that minimum working days will also be finalized very soon. In the end Minister of State said that education is the panacea for all evils and in order to achieve our educational goals we all need to work as one team because nationalism is the need of the hour.

This is our collective responsibility to educate each and every child in Pakistan there should be no doubt about it in our minds. Even though Sindh is not a permanent member but still there representatives have been coming to all the meetings and we have seen amazing progress there.

Provincial education ministers and other esteemed guests also spoke on the occasion, distinguished were Rana Mashhood, Matloob Inqalabi, Muhammad Sanayee, Raza Baresha and Dr. Mukhtar. They all had the same opinion that with mutual consensus we would be able to achieve our educational goals very soon.

Conference was attended by Rana Mashhood (Education Minister Punjab), Raza Baresh ( Education Minister Balochistan), Matloob Inqalabi (Education Minister Ajk), Muhammad Sanai (Education Minister Gilgit Baltistan), federal Secretary Education, Chairman HEC, joint education advisor, Provincial Secretaries of Education, Development Partbers, Academicians, educationists, policy makers and other officials of the ministry.
