Meezan Bank, Western Union join hands for Home Remittance payments in Pakistan

LAHORE: Meezan Bank, Pakistan’s first and largest Islamic commercial bank, and Western Union, a world leader in money transfer services have entered into a collaboration, under which Meezan Bank will provide the Western Union Money Transfer SM Service through its network of 223 online branches in 63 cities across Pakistan.

Meezan Bank is the first Islamic bank in Pakistan to introduce this cross border inbound remittance service through Western Union. This arrangement will enable Meezan Bank to take advantage of Western Union’s significant presence in over 200 countries and territories around the world.

The arrangement will enable expat Pakistanis to send money to their families from around the world and their families will be able to receive this money at any branch of Meezan Bank, in cash, quickly, without requiring a bank account and without having to pay any charges.

Meezan Bank offers a complete range of Islamic banking products and services, including free online banking for all Pak Rupee accounts at all its branches. The Bank’s retail banking network of 223 branches in 63 cities is supported by 24/7 banking services that include over 170 ATMs, Internet Banking, VISA Debit card and a 24-hour Call Centre. The Bank’s VISA Debit card allows its customers to shop at more than 30 million merchants worldwide and withdraw funds from their accounts from more than 1.4 million ATM’s worldwide.
