Meezan Bank launches Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme

Islamabad, April 28, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chairperson Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Ms Leila Khan congratulated Meezan Bank, on behalf of honourable Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for their successful launch of Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme in Islamic financing mode under the aegis of Prime Minister Youth Programme.

She was addressing as a chief guest at the launching ceremony of the scheme, arranged by Meezan Bank here in Islamabad. Meezan Bank is launching this scheme through its branches located in major cities across Pakistan. Meezan Bank is the second bank to offer this scheme in Islamic financing mode. Earlier, Al Baraka bank launched this scheme on 23 April 2015.

Speaking at the occasion, Ms Leila Khan said, “We are working day in and day out for socio-economic development of country by engaging young entrepreneurs. Prime Minister’s Youth Business Loan Scheme is a platform to provide these prospective young entrepreneurs with the necessary capital to establish or expand their already established businesses”.

She added, “Launch of this scheme in Islamic financing mode by Meezan Bank and Al Baraka Bank will attract a large segment of potential entrepreneurs, who wanted this scheme to be launched as a shariah-compliant business financing product”.

Ms Leila Khan explained, “This scheme will make the people job creators instead of job seeker, which will not only improve their living standards but will also eradicate unemployment and poverty from the country by providing employment to many others. Moreover, it would generate more revenues for the provision of better civic amenities for the public by broadening the tax net of the country”.
