Mango growers in Punjab, Sindh increase exports

Islamabad: Mango growers in Punjab and Sindh have increased their exports by more than sixty percent and revenues by more than four million dollars during the last year with U.S. support.

This was disclosed at the US sponsored second annual mango conference held in Islamabad on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion USAID Deputy Country Director Karen Freeman said the mango industry holds great promise for Pakistan’s prosperity in general and greater revenues for the Sindh and Southern Punjab region in particular.

The conference was attended by mango farmers, government representatives, trader, and other mango industry professionals.
