Malik, others denounce unbridled cruelty in IOK

Srinagar, November 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and other Hurriyet leaders and organizations condemned the unbridled cruelty unleashed by Indian army and police in Bandipora in which several people including women were tortured and violently assaulted by the Indian forces. Muhammad Yasin Malik in a statement issued in Srinagar said this reign of terror is being unleashed by those who propagate the ‘battle of ideas’, a reference to puppet Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed.

“These cruel rulers have provided police and army such immunity that they have now started torturing even womenfolk,” Malik said. Strongly condemning the brutal behaviour of police towards those protesting against this oppression, Malik said that the puppet rulers should bear in mind that according to the law of nature, they will have to answer for these crimes and atrocities.

He also paid rich tributes to JKLF founder leader Sheikh Abdul Hamid, Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Advocate Jamil Chowdry, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, Mushtaq Ahmad Kuttay, Mustaq Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Muhammad and others who were killed by forces in Aali kadal area of Srinagar on Nov 19, 1992. Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi, while condemning the Bandipore incident, said the protesters’ raising slogans in favour of Pakistan and martyred youth shows that Kashmiris are ready to lay down their lives for freedom cause.

Hurriyet leader Syed Saleem Gilani in his statement said that heinous acts were aimed at maiming masses of Kashmir. High Court Bar Association of occupied Kashmir in a statement also condemned the incident. “The Bar feels that protesting against the illegal detention of innocents and demanding their release was not a sin committed for which the villagers should have been ruthlessly beaten and critically injured.”
