Malaysian Consul General launches Malaysian Palm Kernel Cake product

Karachi, December 16, 2015 (PPI-OT): Malaysian palm kernel cake (PKC) is widely used as major ingredients in rations for dairy cattle industry around the world. Imports of PKC have become a significant production input to Pakistan’s dairy industry over the past few years as a high-protein supplementary feed for dairy cattles. In the past few years, annual imported quantities of PKC by Pakistan had increased from about 54,000 tonnes in 2012 to 133,672 tonnes in Jan-Oct 2015. Hence, Pakistan become one of the important market for Malaysian PKC beside established market like New Zealand, European Union and South Korea. Malaysia exported more than 1,000,000 tonnes for PKC to New Zealand in 2014.

At the product launching ceremony of Pioneer PKC, Consul General of Malaysia in Karachi, HE Ismail Mohamad Bkri stated that the Consulate would continue to facilitate any efforts to expand the presence of Malaysia products in Pakistan as it will further strengthen bilateral relationship between two brotherly country of Malaysia and Pakistan.

He believed that Malaysia could also indirectly contributed to the success of Pakistan dairy industry by providing them with a good supply of high quality ingredient for animal feed. Pakistan’s is the fifth largest milk producing country in the world based on the International Farms Comparison Network (IFCN) report in 2014.

Pioneer PKC which used imported raw material from Malaysia provides a choice to the farmers to select a high quality and safe products for their animal. Farmers can be assured of highest quality of Malaysian PKC since stringent regulations and requirements been imposed on palm oil industry in Malaysia to produce high quality products, said Fairuz Hidzir, Regional Director of Malaysian Palm Oil Board stationed in Karachi.

Malaysian PKC has been shown to be very promising source of energy and protein in the compound feeds for animal. Malaysian PKC is a high energy source and is a cost-effective ingredient to be utilized in ration formulations for various livestock.

At the launching ceremony, Farooq Feeds and Allied products was represented by its Chairman, Mr. Hanif Chapri while representatives from Al Momin Cooperative Dairy Farming Society Limited also participated in the program. Farooq Feeds is also importing high quality palm-based fat for animal feed from Malaysia and it has excellent distribution network around Pakistan to supply and deliver animal feed ingredients to dairy and livestock industry.
