Lives of Kashmiri detainees in danger in Jammu jails: JKLF

Srinagar, October 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has said that the lives of Kashmiri detainees lodged in Amphala and other jails in Jammu are in grave danger at the hands of jail authorities and criminals associated with fanatic groups.

The JKLF in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the relatives of two prisoners, Muhammad Ishaaq Pala of Shopian and Ubaid Untoo of Sopore, visited party office in Srinagar and informed that both the inmates along with others were living a worried life as they were in a constant danger.

Pala is on a hunger strike inside Amphala jail as the authorities are not producing him before the court under the pretext of bogus reasons, a JKLF spokesman said. “His old-age ailing mother is also unable to meet him from last eight months,” he added.

The spokesman said that the family of Ubaid Untoo informed that he was attacked in Amphala jail by some fanatics causing him serious injuries. “At Amphala and other jails of Jammu, the lives of inmates are in serious danger as they have been put into solitary confinements and criminals belonging to fanatic groups are let loose by jail authorities to attack and torture them,” the statement added.
