Liquid foreign reserves stand at US$ 23,038.7 million

Karachi, September 01, 2016 (PPI-OT):State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced that the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$23,038.7 million on 26 August 2016.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan were US$ 18,128.8 million; net foreign reserves held by commercial banks remained US$ 4,909.9 million, and the total liquid foreign reserves were recorded at US$ 23,038.7 million.

During the week ending 26 August 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$ 58 million to US$ 18,129 million, compared to US$ 18,187 million in the previous week. During the week, SBP made payments of US$34 million on account of external debt servicing.
