Liquid foreign reserves held by Pakistan

Karachi, February 25, 2016 (PPI-OT):State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday said the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$20,332.9 million on 19 February 2016.

The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 15,478.9 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks: US$ 4,854.0 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 20,332.9 million

During the week ending 19 February 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$36 million to US$15,479 million, compared to US$15,515 million in the previous week. The decrease in reserves was due to payments of US$ 35 million on account of external debt servicing.
