Linkage with Chinese Small and Medium Enterprises board urged

Karachi: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (UNISAME) has urged Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to seek linkage with China’s Small and Medium Enterprises Development Board.

The cooperation would help in acquiring guidance for rapid promotion and development of the SME sector in Pakistan, a statement said on Thursday.

UNISAME President Zulfikar Thaver said there were 10 million SMEs functioning successfully in China and they contribute 60 percent revenue.

He said Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) should link up with the China SME Board for regular project guidance on agriculture, agri-based industries, foodstuffs, engineering, dyes and chemicals, light machinery, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides and apparel industries.
