LCCI demands high-powered committee to probe trader’s death

Lahore, May 20, 2015 (PPI-OT): The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed shock and sorrow over the death of renowned trader of Shahalam Market Najam Qutab Jaggu and urged the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif to constitute a high-powered committee to probe the matter.

In a statement issued here Wednesday, president of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ijaz A. Mumtaz said that sudden death of Najam Qutab Jaggu has caused anxiety in the business doing circles.

Ijaz A. Mumtaz said that business community is backbone of the economy and its protection is responsibility of the state. He said that an independent and impartial investigation into this tragedy is a must which will enable the Punjab government to bring those responsible for it to justice without delay.

The LCCI president hoped that Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif would form a high-powered committee immediately for an impartial inquiry.
