Landhi kidney centre made functional after 9 years, two surgeries performed successfully: Senator Saeed Ghani

Karachi, September 05, 2016 (PPI-OT): On the directives of Advisor to C.M. Sindh on Labour Senator Saeed Ghani Landhi Kidney Centre has been made functional after nine long years where doctors performed two successful surgeries on Monday morning. It is pertinent to mention here that this only Kidney Centre running under SESSI was dysfunctional for long period but after assumption of charge as Advisor Labour Mr. Saeed Ghani worked hard by taking drastic measures to reinstate this important medical facility to cater the needs of thousands of industrial workers and their families.

Mr. Ghani felicitated the doctors and paramedical staff for not only carrying out successful surgeries but also getting the Landhi Kidney Centre functional within shortest time. He said that immense efforts were being made to bring the reforms with special focus to improve the performance of the medical and education facilities for the workers and their families.

There has been big positive change and visible betterment in performance of the institutions running under Labour Department within a period of just one month, he said. Sindh Advisor for Labour stated that commitment to provide maximum educational and medical facilities to working class would be fulfilled on all costs and workers to be given relief, all the schools, hospitals, dispensaries were being equipped with required facilities to upgrade them on modern lines.

“Each and every measure including the transfer and posting are also being made on pure merit basis” he added. Medical Superintendent Landhi Kidney Centre Shah Muhammad Noonari while expressing his pleasure over the success of surgeries said that due to keen interest and support of Advisor Labour the Kidney Centre has been revived where two to three operations will be performed on daily basis besides over twenty patients would be provided dialysis facilities daily. He added that this Kidney Centre would be functioning round the clock where number of dialysis machines will be increased from ten to twenty. Mr. Noonari said that Department of Urology is being upgraded with latest machines, trained technicians, paramedical staff and other required facilities.
